Welcome to my website! My name is Lisa Armstrong. I am a graduate student in Instructional Design and Technology at Emporia State University. Three years ago, I stumbled upon some promising research involving social robotics and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). That moment changed my life forever. Today, I am obsessed with exploring all things related to social robotics such as socially assistive robots (SARs), robot-assisted therapy and artificial intelligence. I hope to one day contribute to this fascinating, multi-disciplinary area of research to discover how social robotics might help children and adults with ASD acquire language, social and academic skills. I really enjoy learning new programming languages, software and acquiring multimedia skills which allow me to create applications and content to help kids struggling with developmental disabilities.

Image and Sound Editing

For this week's assignment, I will be editing two separate images using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Fireworks. Then, for the second part of Project 1, I will create a single sound file from multiple sound clips using Audacity. Click the picture above to see my work.

Interactive Video

For Project 2, I have created an interactive video in Adobe Premiere Pro. This project is my first attempt at creating a video using this software. The video shows the Fellow Man International staff delivering school supplies to local children. Click the picture above to see my work.

For this week's assignment, I have created a storyboard for Project 3 using various programs including: Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Fireworks and Adobe Acrobat. The project will be a memorial video for my father who passed away this week. Click the picture above to see my work.

For Project 3, I created a memorial video for my father's funeral. Time to create this project was limited. It also had a 5-minute maximum time frame. I used Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Fireworks and Adobe Premiere Pro to create the video. Click the picture above to see my work.

Storyboard for Project 4

For this week's assignment, I have created a storyboard to produce a virtual tour for the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center's Obsteterical/Gynecological unit. At this time, we are unable to offer face to face tours of our facility for expectant mothers and their support persons due to COVID-19. It is my hope that through the creation of a virtual tour, we will be able to help calm and reassure the pregnant women who will be delivering their babies in our hospital, especially those first-time mothers. For this project, I have also chosen to create a storyboard with illustrations, graphics and text for narration by using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Fireworks and Adobe Acrobat. For this week's assignment, I have created a virtual tour for the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center's obstetrical/gynecological department. For this project, I used Adobe Audition for the sound files, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere Pro to explore and expand my skills while helping expectant mothers learn more about the services and people of the NMRMC OB/GYN unit. For this week's assignment, I have modified and hopefully improved the virtual tour for the Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center's obstetrical/gynecological department. For this project, I used Adobe Audition for the sound files, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Fireworks and Adobe Premiere Pro to continue to expand and improve my skills. The hope for this project is to help expectant mothers learn more about the services and people of the NMRMC OB/GYN unit from the safety of a virtual environment during this time of COVID-19 when live tours are unavailable.
